A bit about me

Originally from Chicago, I earned my undergraduate degree from Butler University. There, I created a student-led position that allowed me to facilitate workshops about healthy relationships and domestic violence awareness to 24% of our student population.

I then moved to Edinburgh to pursue my master's degree in the sociology of emotions (yes, that’s a real thing!). For my dissertation, I conducted interviews with women to better understand how their experiences of sexual health education impacted their relationships and sexual confidence in adulthood. After over 20 hours of discussion, I learned that conversations around sexual assault, healthy relationships, pleasure, and consent are missing from many young people’s sex education—a gap that often has detrimental consequences.

While conducting that research, I co-founded a national grassroots campaign called Back Off Scotland, where we fought to enact anti-harassment buffer zones around abortion clinics in Scotland, leading to a change in national law.

Through the experience above, I’ve developed a mission statement of “finding creative ways to have taboo conversations.” I’ve worked with brands in the following spaces.

💊Contraception
💦 Bladder care
🥣 Gut health
🌱 Menopause
💓 Period care
🍆 Condoms & lube
💸 Financial literacy
💔 Grief

I’m deeply moved by the idea that the things that make us feel most alone in life are actually what tie us together.
